Ellie Jane Goulding was born in Hereford England on December 30 1986. Her mother Tracey Goulding-Summers was employed at the supermarket, while her dad Arthur Goulding was a member of an undertaker's family. Goulding is the second child with a brother called Alex an older sister named Isabel and a younger sister named Jordan. Alex is her elder brother who plays bass for a Hereford group. At the beginning of her life she was encouraged by her mother to study music by her mother. At the age of 9, she started learning clarinet. At the age of 14, she started writing songs, but she didn't start singing until the college time.
